It eventually came to be called Piedmont Pagan Pride Day in reference to the name given to the central region of the state. Now, the organizational structure has been dissolved, a lot of money is missing, and there are many people seeking to understand what went wrong and find a way to heal and move forward. OAKLAND, Calif. — The Bay Area Pagan community lost one of its beloved members over the weekend. Darrin Barnett was rushed to the hospital Thursday, June 7 for “exacerbated asthma,” as explained by his wife, Kaerla. While this became routine since his heart attack in July 2017 as she goes on, this recent event was not ordinary. Barnett’s heart stopped several times on the way to the hospital and he had suffered damage to his brain. The emergency room doctors reportedly told his wife that, while he could come back from his condition but “the chances are better of him not coming back than they are that he will.”
INDEX, Wash. — The Aquarian Tabernacle Church is joining the ranks of Pagans and Heathens who are actively participating in supporting the protesters at the Standing Rock camps. Archpriestess Belladonna Laveau and high priest Dusty Dionne will be leaving their home this week to make the journey to North Dakota. Laveau said, “The Aquarian Tabernacle #NoDAPL group has been put together to show solidarity with those at Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, and to help collect needed physical resources in the Seattle Area to be taken to North Dakota.
