And a word of advice—no matter what demonic forces you fear may be lurking, swallowing rosary beads on an airplane won’t save you… but kicking and screaming will get you arrested.
A lunar lander named for the Greek goddess of wisdom landed near the Moon’s southern pole but unfortunately ended up on its side at an angle, preventing it from recharging its batteries and causing the 10-day mission to be canceled just hours after landing.
Here is the lesson. Without positive action, comparative mythology is (at best) a dry academic amusement and (at worst) an exercise in colonialist cultural appropriation. Rather than taking from Hinduism and calling it Heathenry, I suggest that we learn from a closely related tradition that has much to teach us.
