Pagan Community Notes: Global Wicca Summit, Wiccan Together, World Goddess Day and more

TWH – The Global Wicca Summit begins Monday at 6:30 PM CT. According to the event page, the summit is “a cyberconference, utilizing a series of resources, including live broadcasts, video and audio, allowing anyone, anywhere to participate. Localities may have physical meetings as well, to share the online resources. Through this sharing of resources, we want to reach Wiccans worldwide, to have a discussion of the state of the Wicca in the world.”  Organizers say that the central question is: “Is Wicca a global faith?”

Organized by Witch School International, the event will open with a welcome by Rev. Don Lewis followed by a prayer and ritual by Rev. Stephanie. The evening will continue with interviews and lectures, all broadcast over various forms of digital media, and the summit will be ongoing until September 10. The schedule is posted on The Daily Spell website.  Guest speakers include Rev. Selena Fox, Rev. Apu Adman Aghama, Jason Mankey, Phyllis Curott, Arch Priestess Belladonna Laveau, Oberon Zell, Rev. Ebils Correllian HP,  Rev. Ayra Alseret  and more.  *   *   *

TWH – Wiccan Together, a social media site devoted to the Wiccan community, recently announced its return. The site, which boasted 74,635 members as of August 2018, had shut its doors in July 2017.  According to various sources, the original creator, who is reportedly named Eric, shut the site down.

Pagan Community Notes: Little Witches Ball, Luark, Alabama and more

DETROIT – While a Witch Ball is not uncommon in October, it is uncommon to find one dedicated to children. Members of Michigan’s Pagan community are doing just that. The Detroit Conjure Folk Magic Festival, together with the Michigan Witches Ball, will be hosting a Halloween party just for kids. Little Witches Ball  Hocus-Pocus, as it is called, will be held in Roseville, Michigan, on October 12 at the American Legion East Detroit. Organizers write, “Merry meet, Little Witches and Pagans of all faiths, this is going to be a blast for the children this Halloween Season.” They also note that they will be serving soft drinks and pizza, and have music for the kids to enjoy.

Pagan Community Notes: Florida Pagan Alliance, Ásatrú Ibérica, Global Wicca Conference and more

FLORIDA — The Florida Pagan Alliance president has removed Florida Pagan Gathering and its host organization the Temple of Earth Gatherings from its community initiative roster. Alliance president Michele Webster wrote, “It is our determination, based solely upon facts, that Temple of Earth Gathering/Florida Pagan Gathering is in direct violation of the community not competition initiative,” created by the alliance members in 2017 unify “the community, both Pagan and non-Pagan,” and foster ways to “to work together towards common goals.” Organizational leaders sign on and agree to certain terms.

The alliance board reportedly discovered that, while the FPG organizers had signed the initiative, they had not complied. One reason cited was the changing of the dates of the organization’s big Samhain event, which now conflicts with other local events. The location of the Samhain celebration was recently changed, according to the TEG board, due to construction at the old site; this shift required a date change as the new location was booked up.
