ASHEVILLE, North Carolina – The House of Black Cat Magic (HBCM) has been invited to speak at the Remembering Lil BUB Weekend Celebration. Co-owners, Hannah Soboleski and Star Bustamonte will be presenting at the Remembering Lil BUB Weekend Celebration at the Burskirk-Chumley Theater in Bloomington, Indiana on Saturday, February 3, and Sunday, February 4.

Soboleski and Bustamonte will be giving a short talk on how they came up with the idea for HBCM, as well as defining their business model which provides a unique opportunity to connect spiritual practices with the mission of finding forever homes for black cats. Part of the programming celebrating Lil BUB will include a screening of the award-winning documentary “Lil BUB and Friendz” and “Lil BUB’s Special Special,” which originally aired on Animal Planet.

As an additional treat for attendees, there will also be a premiere screening of the first episode, “My Job is Cat” of the docu-series, “Black Cat Magic” at 7:00 pm (EST) on Saturday. The first episode of the docu-series will also be released to the HBCM YouTube channel that evening.

Lil BUB was a special needs kitty discovered in a tool shed in rural Indiana in the summer of 2011 and was the runt of a healthy feral litter. She quickly became an internet sensation and celebrity cat, helping to bring awareness to the plight of animals who require special care around the world. While Lil BUB crossed the rainbow bridge in 2019, her memory lives on. The Lil BUB’s Big FUND has raised over half a million dollars to help animals that require special care. A full list of programming for the event is available on the venue’s website.

Elevations

Cherry Hill Seminary announced that Ron Padrón had received ordination with Sacred Well Congregation. The Wild Hunt joins Cherry Hill Seminary in congratulating Ron.

Ron received his Community Ministry Certificate in late 2023 and recently shared via Cherry Hills Seminary: “It took me a long while to commit to pursuing the Community Ministry Certificate, but I’m glad I finally took the plunge. This program helped to provide me with a more robust skillset so I could be of better service to my spiritual community, and it also impacted every aspect of my life in ways I could not possibly have predicted. My faculty mentor challenged and supported me in my growth, and with their guidance I’ve been bestowed the honor of ordination as a cleric priest with Sacred Well Congregation.”

Happening this Weekend

The Polk County Pagan Market (PCPM) has announced dates for  2024 that we are excited to share.

More Pagan Outreach, and more educational workshops all at no cost, we have added LGBTQIA+ reps so that we may do more in that area as well. We are also going on the road to host a variety of “On The Road ” events for 2024 and 2025.

In 2023, Polk County Pagan Market became a center of debate between both Pagans and Christians throughout the state of Texas as a local pastor threatened the market with a backlash. The next Polk Pagan will take place at the Imbolc Festival on January 27, 2024, in Livingston TX at Pedigo Park.  Following that event, the Ostara Festival will take place on March 9,  2024, in Livingston TX at the same location.

Book Announcement

RedWheel/Weiser announced the publication of the Celtic Goddesses Grimoire by Annwyn Avalon,  a water witch, a water priestess, and the founder of Triskele Rose Witchcraft, an Avalonian witchcraft tradition.

The Celtic Goddesses Grimoire celebrates feminine divinities from across Celtic Europe, a wide territory that historically once included what is now Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England, and Brittany. Within these pages, you will meet great goddesses such as Brigid, the Morrigan, Sulis, Rosmerta, Elen of the Ways, and Rhiannon, as well as faery women like Melusine and Morgan Le Fae. The book explores the identity of King Arthur’s Lady of the Lake, as well as other Lake Ladies. The book shines a spotlight on the most prominent Celtic female divinities but also includes a section devoted to lesser-known goddesses of the Celtic world, such as the mysterious Nehalennia, who was nearly lost before her shrine was recovered from the depths of the North Sea.

The book will be available in March 2024.

Tarot of the Week by Star Bustamonte

Deck: White Sage Tarot, by Theresa Hutch, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc.

Card: Four (4) of Pentacles

The next seven days may have a focus on finances, including a careful examination of the relationship held between money and physical wealth. This may also serve as a reminder that material wealth ultimately does not define personal self-worth or happiness.

Conversely, the fear of scarcity may result in obsessing over financial matters to the point of greed and placing material wealth over all else.
