TWH – As concerns about the planet and climate change continue to dominate the news, there is not only more focus on sustainable practices but from a Pagan perspective, energetic practices that can support the land.
TWH recently had a conversation with Karen Crowley-Susani and Dominique Susani, of Energetic Geometry, who do work to harmonize and balance the land and by extension the structures on the land, that utilizes the natural elements.

The core of their work relies on the placement of stones and trees that in alignment with the sun, moon, and stars seek to harmonize mineral, vegetable, and animal kingdoms.
The work the Susanis do is fascinating and they draw on techniques that can be found in ancient structures and monuments around the globe.
For the ancient monument builders, the sun and its solar energy figured prominently. Those ancient architects sought to connect the energy of the sun with the land and structures they built.
The Susanis utilize similar techniques that implement a solar rectangle or a solsticial quadrilateral which is formed and defined by the positions of the sun in relation to the solstices and equinoxes and the direction of true north.
Dominique Susani related a story from when he was 3o years old that first captured his interest, “I met a veterinary guy who came to make the land better for the horse—was a little bit, suspicious of making better the grass better through use of stones.” Despite his reservations, Dominque noted that the veterinarian had “a lot of knowledge about animals, [and was a] very smart guy, but also a dowser.”
The veterinarian advised them to put stones on the land. Dominique said it took a bit to find and move the stones, but the next year, “the quality of grass was much better, and different.” For him, this early experience “was a kind of proof that it was valid.”
After his early experiences, Dominique said he moved on to “Geobiology solar, studying the energy of churches, [and] after that began to teach many things. I see that people can learn, that everybody can learn it.”
Karen Crowley-Susani delved into the placement of stones and shifting of energies after she moved into a new home in Denver that was very near large power lines and a power plant.
She wanted to make the house feel better and safer for her children and learned about Feng Shui, land spirits, and sacred geometry. This was how she first Dominique, who was teaching about geomancy and mandalas dowsing which provided the tools for her being able to make her house feel as good as could be.
I wondered if they had ever encountered land that they did not want to harmonize or work with. Dominique said, “No, not really. People, yes. I meet a lot of people who want [their space] to be harmonized but in reality, do not want [it to be].” He continued and said people would end up “moving some stones to transform and then break the forms used.” Doing this alters and destroys the patterns of harmonization.
He talked about a friend who had requested a harmonization of their home where they used four stones to create a formation that aligned to the sun. No sooner than it was in place, the family’s dog entered the space and went directly to the center of the vortex they had created. The dog was happy with the shift in energy.
Unfortunately, the friend removed the stones a few months later and de-harmonized the space.
Dominique, said, “The other situation we know, that when we do a harmonization of a place, all of the things you sweep under the carpet and hide—harmonization brings things come to the surface—the energies do not allow fake things. We have to say that when we do this work something could happen, will bring up issues, so people must make [a] choice.”
He talked about work they have happening on their own property and how it influenced the land as well as some of the workers they had hired to work on a barn restoration project. “For example, at home, we harmonized our home. We raised the energy of the place to have more. We have a phenomenon where the nettles grew to 6 feet tall. We also have some work where we are restoring a stone barn.”
Their harmonization work created an “energetic column or channel and some workers were disturbed by the energy. Some workers stayed, and work well. Without enough integrity, they cannot stay.”

TWH wondered about the impact work like this might have where climate change is concerned. Dominique told TWH, “We have a big plan, what we promote [is to] have land & house harmonized. And to create communities of people, for example, 1 acre of land energy & food–create little structures [to support this].
Dominique related the story of an experience he had with a rancher, “Years ago I was hired by an Uruguayan guy who had 13,000 acres and wanted to harmonize his place and land, ranch and cows. He wanted happy cows. So we did a plan for that, the first thing we did was to harmonize the house and surrounding land—there had been a drought for ten years.”
“Four months after I did the job, what happened is that it rained but only there. Not in the surrounding areas.” In essence, his work created a microclimate.
Dominique said, “When you harmonize the land you begin to set up a microclimate, and it balances the land.”
He outlined how the training and the principles involved helping those they teach to experience the energies of the land at their most harmonious. And how that could be translated to balancing out the entire planet if were done on a large scale.
“Training the people to feel and understand the energies, we teach a little bit of geometry. So that people could be more open to their environment and feel the energies around.
“The exercise consists of making 20 equilateral formations with flowerpots and then the students go there in the center of the structure, and what happens makes a huge connection with the cosmos, makes a huge connection with the Gods.”
“For a lot of them, for the first time, they are able to access that connection. So imagine utilizing that on a grand scale.”

He continued, “To come back to earth when we do this training on the elements it is because most of our students are frustrated architects—went to study architecture to create buildings but do not learn how to create spaces that make people healthy & happy.”
In turn, Dominique and Karen believe that teaching people to feel and recognize the health of the energy of a place or building helps to promote healthier environments.
“You can feel the energy or ambiance and whether it is right or not good for you. This is what some people can feel. But if you are an architect, you should be able to feel if the rooms you design have a good ambiance or not. This is the purpose of architecture. How to feel the elements if a place is unbalanced, if there is water underneath whatever is good or not, and how to fix it,” Dominique said.
The work the Susanis do is interesting, and they have traveled all over the world offering their workshops. They have several events scheduled through the summer that are listed on their website.
In summarizing their work, the Susanis said, “What we think in general is, it is about people. We want people to be healthy and happy and it is the essence of what we do.”
“We like to have fun and laugh, may be the reason we are booked!”
