Thanks for promoting the Yule Goat!

I love the goat as an emblem of numinous otherness--one suppressed by all the Abrahamic representations of goats as devilish.

I've told a story that helps me to reclaim Thanksgiving, in which I've appropriated the goat Amalthea for American Thanksgiving:

http://paganmonist.blogspot.com/2007/11/thanksgiving-wyrd-fragment.html

There was a story last night on our local news about Missouri State University and it's goal of incorporating more religions into the celebration of the holidays: http://ozarksfirst.com/content/fulltext/?cid=14543. MSU has a healthy Pagan population and an official campus group that represents several different minority religions, including Wicca. Oh, and last year people were putting actual pentacles in the campus Yule trees! It was pretty cool.
