For podcast fans there is a new Pagan podcast hub called “Proud Pagan Podcasters”. If you are a Pagan with a podcast and want to join the group they encourage you to join their Yahoo Group site.
Greek lawmakers have lifted a long-standing ban on cremation (Christian Orthodoxy which prohibits cremation is the dominant faith in Greece). This clears the way for smaller faiths (including the small community of Greek Pagans) to conduct non-Christian funerary practices. For more on pre-Christian Greek funerary practices click, here.
The Seattle Times profiles Karen Tate, goddess worshipper and author of a new travel guide to sacred goddess sites entitled “Sacred Places of Goddess : 108 Destinations”.
Grist magazine writes about how some eco-activists are regrouping and working with the U.S. Forest Service to restore damaged forests and help steer logging policy.
Finally, David Pearson writes an inspiring editorial in the wake of the Alabama Baptist church burnings.
“Burning churches is evil. I don’t say this simply because the arsonists picked Christian churches to burn. Burning mosques, synagogues, Hindu temples or buildings used by Wiccan covens would be just as evil. The evil is that they don’t respect the beliefs of others enough to let them worship without interference. It’s in their callous disregard for the symbol of another’s faith.”
A sentiment I could certainly say “amen” to.
