THE MOON AND THE NIGHTSPIRIT

Agnes and Mihaly

Band Bio:
The Moon and the Nightspirit is a musical project formed in 2003 by two seekers, Agnes and Mihaly. It is a mystical journey into the amaranthine realm of dreams and beauty, long-forgotten by modern man. A journey inspired by pagan fables and ancient hungarian folk music.

Reviews:
“The music on “Of Dreams Forgotten and Fables Untold” is a highly crafted blend of acoustic and classical instrumentation that is nearly devoid of electronic corruption. The Moon and the Nightspirit deliver introspective songs filled with romanticism, mysticism, and beauty. The strings sing, the guitars glisten and the percussion is rousing.”Heathen Harvest

“The Moon and the Nightspirit surprised me with this album full of pure beauty. You can dream away on this delicate music. You will go back to Medieval times. This delicate folk music has an ethereal tone. If you like the singing of Anneli M. Drecker on “Shimmering, warm and bright” and would like to hear such a beautiful voice in a complete different setting, or if you like the work of Loreena Mckennitt, you have to try this album.”progVisions

“Looking for something tranquil and acoustic, yet different from most of what’s out there? Then The Moon and the Nightspirit may well be worth looking into. Inspired by Pagan fables and ancient Hungarian folk music, this duo (plus a guest percussionist) delivers an enticing mixture…”Chronicles of Chaos

My Two Cents:
Over the years I have interviewed artists who were Pagan, and I have interviewed artists who created songs rich with spirit and mystery. Rare indeed is the instance when I get the opportunity to interview a band that embodies both of these qualities as completely as the Hungarian band “The Moon and The Nightspirit”. Led by seekers Agnes and Mihaly, this folk-infused duo has set out on a mission to breathe life into the old fables and stories. This is a CD sure to please a wide variety of listeners looking for fresh Pagan-created music. Be sure to read my up-coming interview with them in the Spring 06 issue of newWitch magazine.
