Sex Cult

A human rights tribunal in British Columbia, Canada is calling for a full hearing into the case of a Pagan man into BDSM who was denied a chauffeur’s permit by the police. The man, Peter Hayes, said he was accused of being in a “sex cult” and that he would use his permit to recruit new adherents.

“In tribunal documents, Hayes complained that the officer refused the permit because he posed an “extreme risk of recruiting passengers-customers into my cult during my work hours.” Hayes filed materials with the tribunal alleging that in May 2005, Barker told him that he was a member of a “sex cult” and that his sexual leanings towards a master-slave relationship were the primary reasons for denying the permit. The lawyer who represented the Vancouver Police Department in the preliminary stage of the hearing was unavailable for comment.”

In all the Pagan-related civil rights cases I have seen, this has to be one of the stranger ones. Did the cop think he was going to use his magic powers to seduce his clients into a lurid world of sadistic paganism? Sort of like a kinked version of that scene in the original “Wicker Man” where Willow MacGregor tries to tempt the police officer into sin? Maybe the officer had some repressed desires he would rather not talk about?
