This Post Is So Gay

Just thought I would point my readers towards some interesting articles that talk about (conservative) Christian reactions to homosexuality.

First off, Non-Prophet attends the Colorado Springs Gay Pride Festival and talks to the protesters.

“NP: Yeah, but I’m a gay man, and I’m not a Christian, how does that change a Christian’s marriage?

Stew: It does though, because the gay people get together and they get stronger and stronger and stronger and they overthrow the laws of the country. That’s what happened in Saddam and Gomorrah and God burned them all up.

NP: (laughing) The gays aren’t going to overthrow the country…

Stew: They most certainly are.

NP: Really?

Stew: Absolutely.”

Also Salon is doing a four-part investigation into the Christian netherworld of “reparative therapy,” a disputed practice to convert gays and lesbians into heterosexuals. In part two posted today, a straight man goes undercover to learn more about reparative therapy.

“Barry Levy, a Christian counselor and licensed clinical social worker, is explaining to me what causes homosexuality. ‘Take the young boy who is more sensitive, more delicate, who doesn’t like rough-and-tumble, who is artistic,’ he says. ‘He can’t hit the ball, fire the gun or shoot an arrow. There is a high correlation between poor eye-hand coordination and same-sex attraction.’”

So now you can learn more about how that whole ‘loving the sinner’ but ‘hating the sin’ thing works.

Quick, someone tell Rudy Galindo and Greg Louganis they’re too athletic to be gay!

Oh my goodness, that was the funny quote I’ve ever heard! (It’s about as funny/sad as Bush waving hello to Stevie Wonder!) I had to quote you on my blog! Keep up the great work, I love reading your stuff everyday!
