Pointy Hat and Toad?
Modern Witchcraft really seems to inspire commentators when constructing an example of religious freedoms “going too far”. For example:
“For some would argue strongly ? either you have a school uniform or you do not. As soon as you make an exception for one pupil on the grounds of a cultural consideration, the concept of uniformity has been overturned. And how in future will other “cultural considerations” be evaluated? What if a pupil insists on his right to attend school wearing the orange robes of a Buddhist monk? Or the girl who practices Wicca and wants to wear a pointy hat and carry a toad?”
So remember, we musn’t compromise on issues of religious expression in schools for fear of Witches and other “fringe” faiths thinking they may have rights too.
