A Couple Quick Ones

The Pagan Prattle has the scoop on the drowning death of Peter Solheim who was a parish councillor in Cornwall and why it’s making such a fuss.

“Peter Solheim was a parish councillor, and a father of three, and his body was pulled out of the sea by fishermen two weeks ago. There are discrepancies between where his body and his dinghy were found, which leads police to suspect foul play. But the clincher is that he was a druid, and was a bit weird.” – The Pagan Prattle

Dodgy death + Pagan religion = Tabloid Fodder!

In other news there is a somewhat nice article in the South Carolina State Paper about how religiously diverse it is and even asks a Wiccan for input!

“Right now, people are quite open,” said the Rev. Matt Russell of Orangeburg, who practices a form of Earth-based paganism known as Wicca. For Russell and his fellow believers, high holy holidays include such nature changes as the summer solstice and a new moon.”

They also give an estimate of around 5,000 Pagans in SC which if true means modern pagans outnumber Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists in the state. I wonder as certain states gain larger and larger pagan populations, how long before politicians pay attention?
