You don’t need to emerge from nothing
I few quick words, no matter how hip or “post-modern” you frame it, it’s still the same tired old monotheism to me (no offense, Jesus was way cool after all). I dislike being a target market when it comes to products why would I enjoy it when it comes to faith? Plus, generational pointers are going to make things even worse. Remember the awful book about my generation 13th Gen? If you do, you’ll note how awful and dated it seems now, how out of touch they were with their supposed subject matter. That is how these hip and emerging churches strike me. The best quote I have seen on it in some time is by Karen over at The Heretic’s Corner who writes: “I have to confess that much of what I’ve read about the emerging church strikes me as traditional Reformed theology with a goatee and tattoo. I don’t mean to offend, but I want to know how alternative worship can be progressive, inclusive, relevant, and radically Christian.”
For my two cents it mostly can’t, but then I’m a Pagan, so I could be biased.
